It would be nice to have a link to a page describing how the donations are used, what wikipedia's financial target is et al. (i.e. along the lines of previous fund-raising campaigns). 81.135.51.99 16:17, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

I have donated only one pound. However I think if everyone just donate at least one pound it would be a big amount of money. It is wise to say that please do not give a lot of obligation to users. We are not sure whether every penny will be allocated into the right pocket as I, myself, could only afford £1.29 double cheese burger for dinner.
Thank you for donating to Wikimedia UK. All donations will be used in accordance to UK charity law - although we're not yet a charity (we're a non-profit organisation in the process of applying to be a charity), we do our very best to follow all charity laws and guidance in our activities. All donations are spent on supporting either the global Wikimedia movement (via the Wikimedia Foundation) or the movement within the UK (see 2011 Budget amongst other pages). We endeavour to be as transparent an organisation as is practically possible (e.g. our board minutes are published openly online). We're grateful to receive all comments on our activities via our public mailing list or on this wiki, and we're always willing to answer any questions you might have. Thanks. Also, last time around, there was a link which showed a list of all people who donated, with encouraging comments from them alongside. I guess having such a list will inspire more people to donate.
