Expenses

- Hi Dan - replying instead of Richard here. I'll check this up tomorrow. There are a lot of things currently awaiting payment, but I'm still dealing with expense claims coming in from people in January - last Financial Year - so I have to keep switching between the 2012/13 and 2013/14 accounts! Complicates things a bit and I have to keep two sets of figures in my head. I'll ensure that it goes through tomorrow, or that I contact you if I haven't got what I need. Picture on blog post
Hi Richard, I've just noticed that whilst my doorway photograph links back to the commons page when it is used on the WMUK main page, on the blog post you cannot click on the picture and there is no link to the original picture on Commons, which is the bare minimum required for the CC BY-SA 3.0 license. I think it would set a good example for WMUK blog posts to follow the licensing terms of pictures used on the blog. Thanks. BabelStone (talk) 08:23, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Job descriptions
Hi Richard. Is there a reason why job descriptions are now being uploaded in (unsearchable) PDF files rather than using the wiki pages that already exist in Category:Job Descriptions? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 13:48, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

- Jon's answer by email (posting with permission) was "The answer is that both versions should be available but the PDF is also useful in that it represents the 'locked' current version as agreed by the staff member with WMUK." I'm not sure why protected wiki pages can't be used to do this, though since changes to those are just as noticeable as uploading new PDF versions would be... Thanks. I have to say I am more than a bit surprised by the notice, as I didn't do that much before my CPU got fried in early December, which, with various other things, led to my being inactive for a while (see recent comments at the WikiSource scriptorium) but I thank you very much for the information. I don't know if, at this time, it would be too late to claim, but if you were to drop an e-mail to me or leave me another message at my WikiSource talk page, I could probably find, I hope, some older PD sources on the net available I could pick up or something similar. Looking forwards to meeting you on 23 Sept at the WCS editathon, see that you are a regular editor of archaology pages and was wondering if there was anything we can do to bring in some of the community that edit the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classics page?

- Hi Claire. There might be a couple of places it would be worth posting notices as we might get some people joining the editathon remotely. The classics page is watched by more than 100 editors, so a message on the talk page might have some impact, and there's a WikiProject devoted to Classical Greece and Rome.
