About the Edinburgh University Wikipedia:Meetup
Our mission is to grow and support a community of Wiki-editors at the University of Edinburgh with the express purpose to raise the profile of local history and events.
In the spirit of open access education and advancing web literacy, students, staff, academics and friends are invited to a monthly lunch hour of knowledge creation.
We will have a themed program of article writing and image/picture creation that changes on a monthly bases: informed by either University, citywide or international activity.
We wish to acknowledge that much of our community's Wikipedia editing skill are owed to the passions of Ally Crockford [w:User:ACrockford NLS Wikimedian in Residence]. Ally has also written much of the following instruction, which was most helpful during the Women, Science and Scottish History on Wikipedia: University of Edinburgh 2015 Innovative Learning Week editathons.
