Wikipedia page?

Yes. If created as part of a wikiproject/Commons project page there would be a much better chance of virtual participation by volunteers not otherwise connected to the UK Chapter. --Fæ (talk) 11:06, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

It's a Wikimedia UK event that is taking place in the UK. So my view would be that this wiki would be a natural location for it. Having it here doesn't prevent links being posted on Wikipedia/Commons/etc. in exactly the same way that a local page could be linked to.
