One of the reasons for the existence of Wikimedia UK is to support projects run by volunteers in the UK (and elsewhere). The current and past projects are given below; we have a page where you can submit a proposal for a project and come up with ideas for projects.

Funding of $8,150 (£5,000) has been approved by the Wikimedia Foundation - see here.

Current initiatives

According to WMUK Board meeting, Wikimedia UK is currently active in the following three main initiatives:

• London Loves Wikipedia
• School Project
• Workplace Learning Lunches

also some other initiatives will be developed

• Copyright consultation
• Business Plan.

Past projects

• Oxford bid for Wikimania 2010 (also see the local sandbox)

Timeline

This timeline has been adopted by the Board and will be kept under review

Milestone	Date planned* / Achieved
Board to agree on the three initiatives to be completed this year	7 July 2009
Set up list of involved members, leader in each initiative	31 July 2009
Establish a plan for each initiative including timetable, aim and outline costing	31 August 2009
Complete at least three initiatives	March 2010
