Wikimedia UK Annual Conference 2012

I'm writing to let you know that WikiConference UK 2012 is coming up, on Saturday 12 May 2012, in London. Some time ago you indicated that you are interested in attending the event. If this is still the case please help us in planning for the event by registering at http://donate.wikimedia.org.uk/wikicon12. The conference will incorporate both presentations and talks about Wikipedia/Wikimedia, as well as Wikimedia UK's Annual General Meeting. It is free to attend. If you have any questions please contact Daria Cybulska on daria.cybulska@wikimedia.org.uk or 0207 065 0994. Hope to see you there! Richard Symonds (talk) 15:08, 27 April 2012

Metrics on WMUK

Hi Steve, I am sorry to say that the metrics I set up don't actually work. I was aware of how they worked on WikiPedia for some time, and then stumbled on how to do them on WikiVersity. I tried some of the more obvious links, and even got WikiPedia Ukraine at one stage (the UK refers to their language). It may be that the system has not been set up to include WMUK, or perhaps this has been done, but if so, I am afraid I don't know how to get it working. You might be able to get better advice from one of the technical people at the Foundation. They might even know how to get the service extended to WMUK if it is not already linked in. Bullet points

  • [1] (focus on the empty line]

MediaWiki software quirk: to make a level-2 bullet point, one needs to leave no blank lines between the level-1 bullet point line and the level-2 bullet point line. Alternatively, use the colon, because the indent has the same width as the bullet. Deryck Chan (talk) 19:11, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks Deryck, that's really helpful. --Stevie Benton (WMUK) (talk) 12:41, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

Risk suggestion

Hi, could you take a look at Talk:Risk Register and pick up on Lexein's suggestion? Cheers -- (talk) 15:45, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

Nov Report

I expanded on the tech stuff a bit, I hope this is OK? :) Happy to spend 10 minutes each month summarising what has been done etc. if that's helpful. --ErrantX (talk) 15:30, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

That's excellent, thank you! Always looking for more contributions! --Stevie Benton (WMUK) (talk) 15:36, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Image copyright?

Hi Stevie. Please could you clarify where File:Tonisant.jpg has come from, and which license it's available under? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 17:49, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi Mike. The image was sent to me by Toni himself. I haven't added it to Commons or added license information because I do not know if permission exists and I don't want to make an assumption. It';s used in a blog post which goes live tomorrow. Thanks. Stevie Benton (WMUK) (talk) 17:52, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
