Call for papers

  • Just on as on wiki copied to the gdoc. Most of submissions don’t mention if they are conditional on receipt of a scholarship.

ACTION: DC to check and update on the gdoc.

ACTION: JA to get more speakers via promoting call for papers before 15 Feb

  • After 15 Feb:
    • DC to count the slots for the agenda, organise on gdoc and send round for comments for the glamwiki2013 email list. Duration: 2 days.
    • W/c 18 Feb choose the talks - DC, AG and John Byrne. Liam available to help.
    • Decide on the evening of 21st Feb, when Andrew Gray is in the office? Depending on the schedule of the interviews.
    • Ready by 28 Feb to announce schedule and start promotion.

ACTION: DC to tweet individuals about call for papers. Doing... - via Richard N

ACTION: JA to advertise as well, both call for papers and just attendees.

Agenda

What has been confirmed? LW updating.

  • THATcamp discussion
    • Lead by a local coordinator that Liam doesn’t know but it has been recommended. LW to forward the emails to AG. Done
    • DC to give him a free ticket to the main conference
    • Arrange coffee for Sunday. Aiming for 50-70 attendees. THATcamp is not providing any catering.
    • Allocate the £500 from WMSE for Sunday

ACTION: JA to send a letter of commitment so DC can budget this in.

    • Europeana and THATcamp will merge into one Sunday event. JA happy with that.

ACTION: DC/AG check that THATcamp is confirmed and start promoting in collaboration with Martin Lugton. Martin is planning to start promoting on 11 February.

ACTION: DC to let Stevie Benton to get in touch and coordinate promotion work.

ACTION: DC to organise a meeting with Martin from THATcamp to discuss any details.

  • OKF involvement

ACTION: AG to confirm Sam Leon or sort out whoever is coming.

  • Wikimedia Deutschland involvement - JB still keen for the Wikimedia Deutschland involvement - Wikidata or Toolserver. This could be a workshop.

ACTION: LW to chase again. Doing... - LW emailed on 31/1/2013 to chase.

  • Openstreetmap should be involved - someone to invite for Sunday.

  • Jimmy Wales - JB did not receive any contact

ACTION: JB to forward emails sent to DC and DC to follow up (possibly via Jon Davies). If no response we need another opening speaker - Jon Davies, Chris Keating or Fae


Additionally:

ACTION: AG to organise a Crowdsourcing panel from the BL/elsewhere

ACTION: LW to go through the dgoc agenda and update where we stand at the moment before the call for paper ends (15 Feb).

Budget

We have committed to funding the attendance of Sarah Stierch. DC was not aware.

ACTION: whoever made the arrangements please send forward to Daria so she can mark on the budget.

Social events

ACTION: DC to check with WSC again if he wants to be involved. Done - waiting for reply.

ACTION: DC - put out a call on UK wiki to ask if anyone wants to help with the social events

ACTION: DC call for museums - any institution in central London that is keen to do a tour for us -> to Culture24, liaise with Stevie Benton.

  • British Museum didn’t respond to JB’s query

ACTION: JB to contact again on 7 February

ACTION: AG to check the possibility of a BL tour.

More general issues

  • JB mentioned there should be someone from the Board on this group. No response.
  • 4 logos should be present on our materials - BL, Europeana, WMSE, THATcamp, WMUK. Discussed the arrangements.

ACTION: DC to organise.

  • Next meeting before we choose the papers w/b 18 Feb - Liam to join. 8:30pm.
  • We need a moderator, at least for the main stream. Could be AG. Get call for volunteers later.

ACTION: DC to ask for volunteers on uk mailing list closer to the event date.
