About the event
After Doug Taylor's presentation during AMRC workshop on 30 October 2012, one of the participants (from Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research) approached us with an interest in Wikipedia training. The staff most interested in participating in this training is the research scientists from the organisation.
Topics for the workshop
- Trainees will be encouraged to think about what cancer-related articles they would want to look at. The trainers would be advised to prepare some example articles beforehand too.
- From the pre-event feedback, most registered participants are interested in learning about Wikipedia in general, and also in how it's collaborative in character.
Venue
- Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Old Road Campus Research Building, Oxford OX3 7DQ
- A computer training room with a capacity of 30. Because of the layout of the room it will work best with 15 participants so they can all face the front of the room.
- Internet provided via wired connection on the desktop computers.
- Projector provided by the host
- Refreshments provided throughout
- Possibility of meeting for lunch at campus with Evelyn Harvey before the training - Doug arranging with Evelyn
- Travel expenses covered by Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research
- Parking permit possible but needs to be requested
