About the event

After Doug Taylor's presentation during AMRC workshop on 30 October 2012, one of the participants (from Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research) approached us with an interest in Wikipedia training. The staff most interested in participating in this training is the research scientists from the organisation.

Topics for the workshop

Trainees will be encouraged to think about what cancer-related articles they would want to look at. The trainers would be advised to prepare some example articles beforehand too.

Venue

  • Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Old Road Campus Research Building, Oxford OX3 7DQ
  • A computer training room with a capacity of 30. Because of the layout of the room it will work best with 15 participants so they can all face the front of the room.
  • Internet provided via wired connection on the desktop computers.
  • Projector provided by the host
  • Refreshments provided throughout
  • Possibility of meeting for lunch at campus with Evelyn Harvey before the training - please liaise directly
  • Travel expenses covered by Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research
  • Parking permit possible but needs to be requested

Programme

Indication of the expected programme - trainers are encouraged to put the detail in. The expectation is to provide an introduction to editing (most people would not know how to edit) and have a chance to do small amount of editing.
