Why

What is the point of this page? I know quite a bit about our GLAM programme and we do not have "GLAM Outreach Ambassadors". Thanks --Fæ (talk) 14:45, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

It's the title appearing on volunteers' new business cards. I'm assuming it's more of a vanity title intended to impress third parties than a functional one. Harry Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:21, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

I would suggest that you take it up with the office directly, then, because about half a dozen volunteers are walking round with, between us, thousands of business cards bearing that title. However, I fail to see the need for the board to micromanage every aspect of the chapter's existence, down to how volunteers (who apparently represent the UK community but not the chapter) present themselves. Thanks Harry, already done as you might expect. How the charity is represented is a concern for the trustees, particularly when there may be legal implications. Dismissing my concern as micromanagement is a bit unfair, I was the single trustee that fought the case pretty hard to ensure that volunteers would get business cards when they were needed. This was very specifically discussed and agreed some weeks ago, so I have been surprised at why this was apparently changed just before the cards were printed. --Fæ (talk) 12:15, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
