This page details a proposal to foster connections between the Wikimedia UK chapter, the Falkland Islands, and Wikipedia. The proposal has four main aims:

  • To increase our coverage of Falkland Islands topics
  • To introduce Falkland Islanders to Wikipedia and the idea of 'free knowledge'
  • To partner with local GLAMs, such as the Falkland Islands Museum, and gain access to cultural sites and artifacts dating back to the 1600s, as well as relics of the 25-year-old Falklands War.
  • To encourage Falkland Islanders to edit Wikipedia, with teaching sessions to key members of the local community.
