Projects
- [:en:User:Kshehari Khaled Al-Shehari] started a project in 2013/14, in which he used Wikipedia articles as the source for the translation assignments his students at Durham were asked to translate into Arabic. The project will continue this year in its second phase. For more information, visit the project's page here. - [:en:User:Pennyjohnson7777 Penny Johnson] and [:en:User:SGMckinnon Simon McKinnon] extended [:en:User:Kshehari Khaled Al-Shehari's] project above into the English to Spanish part of the Durham MA in Translation. Their project page can be found here. A French to English project is planned for Autumn 2015.
- WMUK is planning to support an event bringing together people interested in teaching translation via Wikipedia sometime in February/March 2015. Please make sure you indicate your interest in this group above, so we can contact you with further details about these plans as soon as they become available. Email education

Presentations
- [:en:User:Kshehari Khaled Al-Shehari] delivered a presentation at the NU/Durham workshop (Durham University, UK) on 15th September about the the use of Wikipedia in teaching translation. The presentation described an experiment conducted by Khaled on his MA students who study for their MA in Arabic/English Translation and Interpreting.
- Another presentation was delivered by [:en:User:Kshehari Khaled Al-Shehari] at the TEACHING TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING 4, at the University of Lodz in Poland, 28-29 November 2014. For more information about the activity, see the report, including sample slides here.
Future Events
- A 4-hour workshop on the use of Wikipedia in teaching translation in addition to a presentation on the 2nd cycle of an action research project on the use of Wikipedia in teaching translation both will be delivered by [:en:User:Kshehari Khaled Al-Shehari] at the 5th IATIS International Conference, due to take place in Belo Horizonte, 7-10 July 2015, with the title of "Innovation Paths in Translation and Intercultural Studies. More information will be provided when the conference programme is published.
Planning
- 7 January 2015: [:en:User:Kshehari Khaled Al-Shehari], [:en:User:SGMckinnon Simon McKinnon], [:en:User:Pennyjohnson7777 Penny Johnson] and [:en:User:SWagstaffe Sally Wagstaffe] met up in Durham to develop ideas for the project in 2015 (including plans for using Wikipedia in teaching Spanish<>English and French<>English translation).
