Passwords

The migration of accounts is a concern, as we don't want people to lose access. It is unlikely we will be 
provided   password hashes or email addresses by the Foundation, so we need a method for people to recover  their 
accounts.

I don't know why this is an issue. Is it that the WMF would simply not allow such information to be released? I oftne move wikis from one server to a another, and the mysql dump and restore of all files in Mediawiki will bring the passwords along with everything else. Gordo (talk) 09:44, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
