Welcome! to the page for Wikimedia in Scotland, a sub-group of Wikimedia UK working on improving the quality of content relating to Scotland on all Wikimedia projects and outreach to relevant cultural institutions within Scotland.
Wikimedia UK is a not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee. They are supported entirely by voluntary donations (principally through the annual Wikimedia fundraiser). Please note that they are a separate organization from the Wikimedia Foundation, and have no control over Wikipedia or any other Wikimedia Foundation projects.

Upload your pictures: Wikimedia Commons is a repository of free (as in speech and as in beer) media. Upload your photos today and have them reach an audience of thousands.
Join Wikimedia UK: Membership of the UK-wide chapter is open to all and costs just £5 a year. While most members are editors of one (or more!) of the Wikimedia projects, you don't need to be.
Events: We organise dozens of events each year, including meetups, Editathons, "Backstage Pass" events, workshops and conferences. Almost all of these events are free of charge and open to the public - why not come along and join in?
