Wikimedia UK has been given two "herbscan" machines by the Natural History Museum.
They are Epson Expression Model 10000XL flat bed scanners which scan objects of up to A3 size at 2400 dpi
They come with a frame built for raising and lowering plant specimens to be scanned but could be used for many other objects.
