As a newbie myself, I was only recently confused by this. As I understand it, it is possible (indeed, with SUL, easy) to edit this wiki, to correct spelling mistakes, comment on initiatives, discussions etc. - there is no need to join first. Obviously, new wiki editors can be welcomed and then bombarded with advice about joining ad infinitum (they wouldn't edit the wiki unless they were at least partially interested in WMUK!). So it's probably worth making it clearer that you can edit without being a member first? : I think that it's been fairly obvious up to now that people can join in discussions etc. about the chapter without being a member, as open discussions on the mailing list have been going on for a lot longer than the chapter in its current incarnation has existed. For new people finding the chapter discussions for the first time, though, this is definitely something that we should highlight. [[User:Mike Peel|Mike Peel]] 13:19, 31 August 2009 (UTC) |

Wiki editing vs. membership
Jarry1250 09:03, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
