I was a [[Board|Wikimedia UK board member]] during 2011-2013, being part of the board that created the UK Charity, and a previous Chairperson of Wikimedia UK. In 2012, I was the first Chair of the Wikimedia Chapters Association and I co-founded the Wikimedia LGBT group the same year. Until 2013, I was the only openly gay trustee for Wikimedia UK and was voted in with LGBT projects as part of my stated reasons for becoming a trustee. | |||
On the Wikimedia Projects I am best known for making several million edits on Wikimedia Commons both with more than 160,000 uploaded images and audio files and making more than 3,000,000 edits under my main account and my bot account, mostly GLAM project related volunteer work, with no funding. | |||
I used to be an Administrator on the English Wikipedia with 76,000 edits, but as of 2013, am retired from that project, you can read a resignation statement [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:F%C3%A6#So_long.2C_and_thanks_for_all_the_fish here] and considering the deliberately offensive community debate about transgender people in 2013, and that Arbcom's own findings found that I have been harassed over a period of years both on and off wiki by the same people, I am in no rush to rejoin and be hounded on that project again. | |||
