The first AGM of the new chapter will be held on Sunday 26th April at the University of Manchester Student Union. Come along and help elect the new Board, question the candidates and set the priorities for the chapter for the next year.
Forms to join up are here and membership fees start from just 50p per month.
Location
Following discussion with the community on the email list, the Board decided to hold the AGM in Birmingham at its first choice, or Manchester if it was not possible to find a free or low cost venue in Birmingham. The rationale was that Birmingham and Manchester are central locations with good transport links to the rest of the country, London hosted the first WMUKv1 meeting and Oxford in being considered for the 2010 AGM in the run up to Wikimania 2010.
Unfortunately, we were unable to find a suitable low cost room in Birmingham, so we are holding the AGM in Manchester instead.
We will be booking a room in Manchester University, with full details to be announced closer to the time.
Date
The AGM will be held on Sunday 26th April - the first most widely convenient date that was available following the required 28 day notice period after the opening of the bank account on 26 February.
Notices
The following notices will need to be sent out:

- 1. Report
Report from the initial board on their activities.
- 2. Election of the Board

Surrounding events
Have AGM in afternoon (the best time for people far away, as it lets them get there and back in a day), and some informal events in the morning and evening?
Possible ideas:
- Talks?
- Discussions (informal) / debates (formal)
- Meal / discussion in pub in the evening, along the lines of a wikimeet?
- In-person collaborative editing, working to improve some wikipedia articles?
