An attempt to remember all the events I've attended, run, or organised.

  • Screen Sprint
    • WMF offices, San Francisco, September 2010. Wikimedia Foundation event to launch WikiProject Screencast, involving producing demonstration screencasts on making screencasts and editing Wikipedia.
  • Herbert Backstage Pass (attended)
    • Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry, 1 October 2011.
  • Manchester Wikilounge (assisted)
    • John Rylands University Library, Manchester, 24 October 2011. A drop-in session for members of the public and University of Manchester staff and students wishing to learn more about Wikipedia.
  • Manchester Girl Geeks editing day (led with RexxS)
    • MadLabs, Northern Quarter, Manchester, 12 November 2011. Members of Manchester Girl Geeks spent a day learning how to get started as Wikipedians. Several articles and draft articles were created, and several more expanded by the attendees during the course of the day, while myself and others floated around the room to provide assistance where necessary. (Event review by Manchester Girl Geeks).
  • Liverpool Wikilounge (led)
    • Sydney Jones Library, University of Liverpool, 22 November 2011. As with the Manchester Wikilounge, a drop-in session for students, staff, and members of the public wanting to learn more about Wikipedia. Fewer drop-ins than Manchester due to a smaller group of volunteers and an impractical location, but those who came left better informed about Wikipedia.
  • GLAMcamp Amsterdam (attended)
    • 2, 3, and 4 December 2011, Amsterdam. Three-day conference and workshop on relationships between Wikimedia and cultural organisations.
  • Charities in Development House (assisted)
    • 19 and 20 December 2011, WMUK offices, Development House, London. Drop-in session for representatives of other charities/not-for-profits based in Development House, assisting them with improving the Wikipedia articles about their organisation with particular focus on Wikipedia's policies on conflicts of interest.
  • OTRS workshop (attended)
    • 7 and 8 January 2012, WMUK offices, Development House, London. Workshop/mini-conference and training event for volunteers who answer emails sent to Wikipedia.
  • Wikipedia and Me (assisted)
    • 26 January 2012, Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry. Talk by Roger Bamkin, followed by a session helping attendees get to grips with editing Wikipedia.
  • Wiki Loves Monuments brainstorm (organised and chaired)
    • 18 February 2012, WMUK offices, Development House, London. Brainstorming meeting and workshop for volunteers interested in bringing the European photography contest "Wiki Loves Monuments" to the UK.
  • Outreach work in Monmouth schools (with RexxS)
    • 20 and 21 March 2012, Monmouth. Teaching in two schools in Monmouth as part of the Monmouthpedia project.
