What is ThanksTo?
ThanksTo is a website for giving public recognition to the people and organisations that make your lives better. It’s about championing the people in your communities who really deserve it, by sharing your inspirational stories about them with others. By encouraging people to share their stories about the organisations or people who have made a positive impact. ThanksTo aims to show everyone the value of those acts, and how much they are appreciated.
Benefits
Helping people realise the benefits of Wikipedia, creating more recognition and possibly motivating people to donate and/or volunteer. We will specifically be targeting universities and students in London.
Requirements
We will be needing funding for printing of flyers, t-shirts, organisation of an event and sevral other minor costs. We will be getting various sposors, however if Wikipedia can possibly sponsor the project and/or help out in any way it would be truly appreciated.
Volunteering
We are a team of 5 and will be working closely together for the next 6 weeks. However if anyone is interested in helping out, volunteers are always welcome. Our current team is Nasko Zahariev, Yuliya Panarina, Miruna Marinescu, Cass Wortmann and myself, Emilien Hoet (Team Leader).
