:: Jon's answer by email (posting with permission) was "The answer is that both versions should be available but the PDF is also useful in that it represents the 'locked' current version as agreed by the staff member with WMUK." I'm not sure why protected wiki pages can't be used to do this, though since changes to those are just as noticeable as uploading new PDF versions would be... Thanks. Hi!, & welcome Johnbod (talk) 14:27, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi John, and thanks for the welcome! It's nice to be working at Wikimedia UK, though I may need to change my name to avoid confusion. Richard 2.0? Richard Nevell (WMUK) (talk) 15:14, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Oh no, it'll be fine. This way, we can continue to say send it to / ask Richard when anything Office related comes up. :) And of course, welcome! KTC (talk) 15:46, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Training the trainers - Newcastle

Hi Richard. I have started a discussion about the location of the February train the trainer course that you've signed up to. You might be interested in commenting - see Talk:Training the Trainers/February 2013 event. Thanks, Bazonka (talk) 21:49, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Expenses

Hi Richard, I haven't heard anything about the expense claim that I made for mileage to the train-the-trainers event in Manchester. Is it still being processed, or has it got lost? Thanks, Bazonka (talk) 19:50, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi Dan - replying instead of Richard here. I'll check this up tomorrow. There are a lot of things currently awaiting payment, but I'm still dealing with expense claims coming in from people in January - last Financial Year - so I have to keep switching between the 2012/13 and 2013/14 accounts! Complicates things a bit and I have to keep two sets of figures in my head. I'll ensure that it goes through tomorrow, or that I contact you if I haven't got what I need. Richard Symonds (WMUK) (talk) 00:05, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
OK thanks. You probably won't have all the necessary info, so you'll need to get in touch. Bazonka (talk) 19:14, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Picture on blog post

Hi Richard, I've just noticed that whilst my doorway photograph links back to the commons page when it is used on the WMUK main page, on the blog post you cannot click on the picture and there is no link to the original picture on Commons, which is the bare minimum required for the CC BY-SA 3.0 license. I think it would set a good example for WMUK blog posts to follow the licensing terms of pictures used on the blog. Thanks. BabelStone (talk) 08:23, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi Babelstone, I've added a link back to Commons from the blog. We usually do that, but that was an oversight on my part (hopefully we do set a good example). Thanks for catching that, and apologies for missing out the link to begin with. Richard Nevell (WMUK) (talk) 09:34, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
No problem, thanks for putting the link in. BabelStone (talk) 22:26, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Training the Trainers Nov -> Feb

Thanks for the note about the postponement of the Training the Trainers event in Cardiff from Nov to Feb. Is there a sign up page for Feb yet as putting a note on the Nov page doesn't seem logical?Rodw (talk) 15:22, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Job descriptions

Hi Richard. Is there a reason why job descriptions are now being uploaded in (unsearchable) PDF files rather than using the wiki pages that already exist in Category:Job Descriptions? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 13:48, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Mike, I will defer explanation to Jon Davies. Richard Nevell (WMUK) (talk) 13:59, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
