The current Membership Secretary is User:Mike Peel; please contact him if you have any questions regarding membership. The proposed rules regarding membership are on another page.
Membership levels
Membership currently consists solely of what WMUK1 called "Guarantor Membership", but here is simply called "Membership". Other membership levels, e.g. Friends (non-voting; what WMUK1 called "Supporting Membership") and Corporate Membership, may be introduced at a later date.
Eligibility
Membership is open to all; members do not have to live in the UK or be a certain age or be editors of any of the Wikimedia Foundation projects. All we ask is that members agree to support the Objects of the chapter and not to bring the chapter into disrepute.
Membership is not transferable.
Members have to disclose to the Board their full name and residential address but don't have to disclose the username used to edit the projects. If you aren't comfortable disclosing this information, please consider donating to the chapter instead and supporting our activities.
Membership fee
The current membership fee is £12/year, reduced to £6/year for concessions (defined as under 18, full-time student, unemployed and OAPs).
This fee is reconsidered at the Annual General Meeting.
Fees and donations can be paid at the moment as cheques, bank transfers or standing orders. We are currently looking into paypal payments and cash.
We have recently applied to register for Gift Aid and will keep this updated when we hear back.
