* This sounds really great. :-) I'm happy to '''approve''' this microgrant - and I've just checked with Jon that the office can supply you with banners and freebies. I'll follow up with an email shortly. Thanks. ** Procedural note: the increase of the financial aspect of the grant to £58 is fine. Thanks. [[User:Mike Peel|Mike Peel]] ([[User talk:Mike Peel|talk]]) 07:03, 28 July 2012 (UTC) | |||

- Overview
Provide resources for setting up a stall at the Cambridge University freshers' fair 2012 to advertise the Cambridge University Wikipedia Society and WMUK.
- Budget
£30£58 registration fee(TBC)Deryck Chan (talk) 11:49, 19 July 2012 (UTC)- A few WMUK banners
- Lots of freebies to give away
- Timeline
Timeframe: Now (22:32, 12 July 2012 (UTC)) to early October
- July 2012 - complete society registration, bid for stall
- July - Sept 2012 - pay registration fee (£58)
- July - Sept 2012 - recruit stall volunteers
- Sept 2012 - receive decision on the outcome of stall bidding (success/fail)
- late Sept 2012 - receive materials from WMUK
- 2-3 Oct 2012 - freshers' fair happens
- Expected outcomes
Successfully bid and set up a stall at the Cambridge University freshers' fair. Through the stall, it is hoped that everyone in Cambridge University will know about WMUK; a sizeable number (expect 20~50) of Wikipedian freshers and other students will sign up to the campus Wikipedia society. The society will then aim to host events such as speaker events and editing workshops. Supporting the use of Wikipedia-editing as coursework is also in mind, if we get course leaders on board.
- Who I am
