Thanks for your response to the question about Wikiversity. I agree that a wiki is not the only resource needed for running an educational course. However as a platform for OER I think it is good - a part from the unfortunate fact that quite a few people find it hard getting their heads around wiki-editing. I think it would be good to work closer with [http://wikieducator.org/Main_Page wikieducator], which already has quite a cross-over with wikiversity.[[User:Leutha|Leutha]] ([[User talk:Leutha|talk]]) 22:09, 27 April 2012 (UTC) | Thanks for your response to the question about Wikiversity. Hello! Welcome to the website of Wikimedia UK, the UK chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation. To find out more about us, please take a look at the Main Page, and help and advice for editors (particularly those inbound from WMF projects such as Wikipedia) can be found at Help:Contents. If you haven't already, please consider joining us and getting involved with some of our activities or, if you lack the time, donating instead. If you have any questions, please let me know. *Cough*, Fæ spills coffee on keyboard after seeing welcome notice. --Fæ 08:29, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the welcome message. I wonder if this is an organisation I can get more involved with? ;-) The Land 08:37, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
WWI
Thanks for the message. I'm supposed to be taking a wikibreak at present - family health issues, so can't volunteer too much of my time at present, but I'm particularly interested in Somerset (where several of the Thankful Villages are), so may contribute on them, rather than more widely.Rodw 17:58, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
- Understood. I'll drop you a line on one wiki or another if there's anything going on you might be interested in. The Land 20:48, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
World War I Editathon
I almost missed the update with details of this World War I Editathon. I've now enabled the e-mail option to be notified when pages on my watchlist get edited on this wiki and the 'Add pages I edit to my watchlist' option, which should help. I was half-expecting an e-mail from someone about this, though, as the original sign-up page told people to make sure their e-mails were enabled. Are there any plans to e-mail people who signed up at the World War I page? Carcharoth (talk) 23:36, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for signing up! Yup - we've just had the venue confirmed, I'm planning to send those emails in the next day or two... The Land (talk) 07:07, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
