Revision as of 19:14, 8 August 2011
As part of a working relationship between Wikimedia UK and the Institute of Physics, a Wikipedia workshop will be run for IoP members, based on the Cancer Research UK Workshop run earlier in the year. This will aim for a dozen attendees and four or five Wikimedia volunteers. The workshop will take place at the IoP premises in central London (directions to follow) on Thursday 1 September 2011.
The contact for this event in IoP is Lena Weber. The contact in Wikimedia UK is Martin Poulter, martin.poulter@wikimedia.org.uk .
Attendees will be asked to register an account.
The workshop is a day before the Science Online London 2011 conference at the British Library, which will "explore the ways in which the Web has transformed scientific research and communication". The conference will include a session on "How are wikis being used to carry out and communicate science?" led by Henry Scowcroft of Cancer Research UK and Mike Peel of Wikimedia UK.
