Bristol is Down South, but still relatively easy to get to.

WikiConference UK 2011 will be held on Saturday 16 April 2011 in Bristol - at the Watershed. The conference will incorporate both presentations and talks about Wikipedia/Wikimedia, as well as Wikimedia UK's Annual General Meeting. It will be free to attend, and lots of fun.

We're currently in the early stage of planning; if you can help, please see the talk page or volunteer below.

Agenda

The agenda has still to be decided. It could look something like this:

Time Event
9.30 Gathering for tea and biscuits
10:30 Welcome
11:00 Morning Sessions
12:30
13:00 Wikimedia UK AGM
15:00 Afternoon Sessions
16:30 Closing Keynote
17:30 Close
18.00 Retiring to a nearby pub in typical wikimeet style. A mini Board meeting will also happen about now.

Wikimedia UK AGM

Talks about Wikipedia

Intended to be focused on content - e.g. Wikiprojects.

  • Details to come

Talks about open content projects

Intended to be focused on 'meta' discussion - e.g. what the chapter can do.

  • Details to come

Post-conference activities

  • Any suggestions for a pub?
  • The mini board meeting will likely focus on deciding upon the officials, getting a briefing from the outgoing board members and handing materials over, and deciding the date (and location) of the next (in-person) board meeting.

Attendees

Are you interested in coming? Please sign up now, and we'll remind you closer to the time. It's important that we know how many to plan for, so that we can make sure there's enough seats to go around!

If you're likely to need assistance covering your travel costs to the conference, please mention that / let us know otherwise.
