Wikimedia Norge participated at the last Celtic Knot Conference with a workshop on How to kickstart a dead Wikipedia? At that point The Northern Sami Wikipedia had no active contributors, and Wikimedia Norge was looking into building a project to revitalize it.


One year into the project on Northern Sami Wikipedia we would like to present how we have used the input we gathered at last year’s conference workshop, what we have learned and achived after one year and what our plans are for the future.

I have been working at Wikimedia Norge since 2014. Wikimedia Norge currently have 3 staff members. I started as a program manager for Wikimedia Norge’s Glam program and since 2015 I have been working as Executive Director in addition to concentrating on Glam projects. Before I started working for Wikimedia Norge I worked in publishing.  
In partnership with Glam, educational and organizational institutions Wikimedia Norge work on increasing the diversity of content on Wikimedia-projects and diversity among contributors to the Wikimedia-projects. Since 2017 we have a project supporting the Northern Sami Wikipedia.

Ar y pryd hwnnw, doedd gan Wicipedia’r Sami Gogleddol ddim un cyfrannwr oedd yn weithredol, ac roedd Wikimedia Norge yn edrych ar ffyrdd o adeiladu prosiect i’w adfywio.
