Wikimedia UK is happy to host a photography training session by w:User:Geni on the 10 December 2013.

Participants can expect to learn some tips for taking good photographs of objects in Museums:

This is intended for people who already have experience of uploading photographs to Wikimedia Commons but want some tips for handling common problems such as reflections from glass display cases.

Venue

Development house, 56-64 Leonard St, London EC2A 4LT (Old St tube) from 13:30 to 15:30 on 10 December 2013


Lunch

Lunch will be provided. Please tell us if you have any dietary requirements.

Details

w:User:Geni is a longstanding Wikimedian who will be using this session to share some of his experience of taking close up photographs in museums.

This event is suitable for people who have some experience of taking photographs and uploading them to Wikimedia Commons and wants some tips to improve their photography.

Attendees

Please sign up by typing # ~~~~. Due to the size of the room there are only 12 places available.

Participants in this event are very welcome to stay on for WLM awards ceremony and community Xmas party which will follow this event, but if so please sign up for both as we have limits on numbers.

Afterwards

After a short break we will also be hosting the Wiki loves Monuments awards with Jimmy Wales. Both events are free and we hope that attendees of the photography session will stay on for the awards ceremony, but if so please sign up for both as both events are limited to the number of people we can fit in the room.

Disability

Development house is an accessible building, please notify us in advance if you need step free access and we will make sure that the stair lift is in operation to enter the building.

We have a hearing loop available, please notify us in advance if you need it to be on.
