Wikipedia photo library workshop - In a nutshell
Where?: Mozilla Spaces, 101 St. Martins Lane, Suite 300, London WC2N 4AZ When?: Tuesday 4 December 2012, 2pm-6pm Point of contact: Daria Cybulska or WereSpielChequers. You can also call 0207 065 0994 or email daria.cybulskawikimedia.org.uk Participants: were encouraged to sign up here. Attendance was free, refreshments included.

Summary of the event

Many Wikipedia articles lack images, even though great images are often available. This was a workshop for people who do not have much experience of editing, but would like to help. What did we learn?

Wikimedia has acquired copies of some very large collections of photographs, some of which would make great illustrations for Wikipedia articles, and many Wikipedia articles which don't currently have any pictures could be illustrated using these images.
