Wikimedia UK's Grants Committee was decided at the 13 July 2013 Board Meeting after a proposal from Katie Chan. The committee's role is to scrutinise all incoming grant requests, and to then to advise the Chief Executive on whether or not they should be accepted.

Small projects and simple grant applications are dealt with by a small team of staff members. Larger projects such as proposed Wikimedians in Residence would be considered by a wider panel of staff and occasionally board members. [[User:Daria Cybulska (WMUK)|Daria Cybulska]] and [[User:Karla Marte(WMUK)|Karla Marte]] are the primary staff members dealing with this work.
