On Friday 1 July 2011, Wikimedia UK volunteers visited the London offices of the Medical Research Council to deliver a training workshop, based on the Cancer Research UK Workshop run earlier in the year. MRC-funded scientists and science communicators took their first steps contributing to the free online encyclopedia. The workshop was also an opportunity to discuss the big picture of what the Wikimedia projects are trying to achieve.

The contact for this event in MRC is Matt Jukes. The contact in Wikimedia UK is Martin Poulter, martin.poulter@wikimedia.org.uk .
